Confucius School Sleepover and Horizon Agricultural Festival
So Adventure Korea hooked me up with a free trip this past weekend, since I've done lots of their trips and they had some free spots left. I suppose I'm somewhat of a frequent shopper for their tours ;)
It was a pretty interesting and enlightening experience about this kind of school, which
apparently not even most Koreans get to take part of, as the reporter that was there the first night to cover the event told us.
It's a school to learn about confucius practices, which involves attempting to be god-like, by harvesting their "chi" (a type of life energy) and attain "i" (definitely don't know how to spell that one), which is a type of mental energy.
And, obviously, this new picture layout isn't working too well haha.. I figured I'd give it a try to attempt to liven my posts up a bit, but not working to well so far...
Some of the pix posted here include the "grand master" who was around 80 years old, and to whom everyone (including, as we were instructed, we did) bowed to when he walkd by.
On the second day we did some meditating and Tekyo (a tai-chi type, very slowed down version of tae kwon do) after waking up at 4AM and then did some calligraphy, and finally took off in the
early afternoon.
Wow, this is hard to arrange correctly :p Anyways, after the temple stay, the 2nd day included a visit to one of the agricultural festivals going on in Souther Korea, where we got to harvest rice and do a bunch of goofy stuff. One of the girls in the group I hung out with was interviewed by a girl with a fancy camcorder haha. Just another day in the celebrity-like lives that we lead over here at times.
